Adsorbed Natural Gas Products, Inc. (ANGP) was of the featured companies at this year’s annual Tech Expo at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Each year, the university presents new technologies associated with its current research programs. In addition to a host of promising emerging technology, a few companies who have either commercialized science developed or studied at the university present keynote addresses. This year, ANGP was one of three such companies.
Bob Bonelli, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of ANGP, made a 30 minute presentation on low pressure adsorbed natural gas (ANG) technology and its application to natural gas vehicles. Bob highlighted that ANGP’s origins date back to 2012 and research performed at the university. “ANGP is proud to hold the license to the university’s ANG discoveries for the exclusive use of on-board motor vehicle fueling,” Mr. Bonelli said and continued, “though ANGP is using different, more commercially suitable materials, the university provided our company with gravitas at a running start. For this, the university was granted equity ownership in ANGP.”
Bob presentation expanding on the unique commercially viable attributes of ANGP’s technology, but also detailed the industrial coalition business model built by ANGP. “Our strength is in the coalition of global companies, each with specific core competencies and global manufacturing infrastructure, through which ANGP systems will be manufactured and distributed,” he said.
ANGP’s coalition is comprised of Ingevity, Worthington Industries, Aspen Compressor, Midwest Energy Solutions and – the latest addition – United Technologies Research Center.
ANGP is on schedule to enter the market with its first generation low pressure ANG storage system for pick-up trucks and service vans during the first quarter of 2016.
